DIRECTORS/MEMBERSHIP BOARD OF MEETING

GRAND BLANC HUNTSMAN’S CLUB

September 11, 2023

Present:  Ian Doran, Judy Jones, Len Smith, Bob Yochim,Cory Bredow, John DeGroot, Bob Flauding, Ken Travis, Paul Benmark, Paul Rosemeck, Chris Baning      

                  The meeting is called to order by President Ken Travis at 6:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance  

President:  Ken Travis

• Ken thanked everyone for their participation and help getting the club ready for the Great Lakes shoot.

Recording Secretary:  Ian Doran

• None

Vice President:  Bob Yochim

• Bob reported the Skyway cell tower company made a buyout offer.  The board decided that we will continue with the rent avenue.  Going forward rent money will be put in a separate account.

Treasurer:  Len Smith- All financial reports are available for review for GBHC members upon request.  The fixed and variable costs associated with the operating GBHC were discussed.  The distribution of the costs against the revenue generating venues and events for the month were also discussed to show where gains or losses had occurred.

• Targets thrown in August were down slightly from July at 60.5k.  This is in line with 2022.
• There were 1400 FITASC targets thrown.
• August registered shoot drew 82 shooters bringing profit to the club.
• There were 80 persons attending the Steak and Clay dinner.
• Highlighted expenses for the month were centered around service and parts.  Parts for Promatic machines, medium springs for SC machines, cart tires and Gator steering shaft repair.  Also the payment for the 6 new Promatic machines.

Motion carries with all Ayes from the board and members in attendance

Skeet Report:  Chris Baning

• Chris requested August 9-11, 2024 be reserved for the CANUSA games.
• Backup skeet is on for January 2024

Sporting Clays:  Len

• Len reported that Vince is looking to exclusively set the C/D targets and not change them month to month.  The club would be free to set the A/B targets.  All agreed that this would be OK.

Rifle /Pistol Range:  Glenn Williams- Absent

• Bob Yochim reported that they are almost done with staining and painting.  The roof is done.

Manager Report:  Cory Bredow

• Cory noted that we need to announce that we are paying for pullers on the signup sheet for any big shoots in the future.

Marketing:   Open

Old Business:  

• Cash register update- Jim Siudura will push the issue or will find a new supplier to close the issue.
• Fence construction-  Done

New Business:   

• Skeet field #2 concrete- Bid is in.

Motion to Accept the bid was made by Bob Yochim.  2^nd by Ian Doran.

Motion carries with all Ayes from the board and members in attendance.

• Great Lakes shoot Sept. 9th-10th
• Bust’em for Breast Cancer- Saturday September 16^th.
• Pheasants Forever Youth Shoot- This event is organized by Dale Statson and will take place Sept. 23^rd.
